Where is the Zante strip?

The Zante strip is in the resort of Laganas, about 7 km from Zante airport.[3] It is also called the Laganas strip, the main strip, Dimokratias Street or Beach Road, and it is the party street of the resort.[1] See airport to Laganas for how to get there.

What is on it

It has over 40 bars and clubs, with music from dance and pop to hip-hop, indie and decade-themed nights.[1] Things generally start around 10pm and wind down around 6am. There is no entry fee for the strip in general, except for big organised nights and special guest DJ events.[1]

The big clubs

  • Rescue Club: at the heart of the strip and described as Zante's largest super-club, with a capacity above 2,000.[2]
  • Ikon Club: in the middle of the party zone, with a neon-lit entrance and a modern look.[2]
  • CherryBay: on the beachfront at the end of the strip, hosting some of the island's biggest events.[2]
  • Plus Club: an open-air bar at the front with a club at the back that has hosted big-name DJs.[1]

Cocktail bars

Fishbowl serves cheap cocktails in fishbowls to a younger crowd and is described as a pre-drinks stop.[4] Cocktails and Dreams is an upstairs cocktail bar with over 40 cocktails, and Cheeky Tikis is a Hawaiian-themed cocktail bar with karaoke out the back.[1]

Ticketed party nights

A few regular nights have an entry price. One guide lists Zeros' "The Ball" on Saturdays from June to mid August (about £30), Sizzle's "Dancing in Colours" on Saturdays (about £20) and the Total Karnage bar crawl on Sunday evenings from June to mid September (about £20).[1] That guide was last updated in October 2024, so treat prices and days as examples and confirm current details before you book.

Late May versus summer

Some of those regular nights only start in June, so late May has fewer weekly events than July and August, but it has the launch parties. That is what Zante opening week is.[1]

Tips for a first night out

  • Agree a meeting point and stay with your group. Read the student guide and the guide for 18 to 21s.
  • Ask for the total price, and whether a cover charge includes a drink, before you pay.
  • Plan how you will get back, and see getting around Zante.
  • Pace yourself, as the strip runs until about 6am.[1]

Where Trick Zante fits
