Documents
- Passport. It must be less than 10 years old on the day you arrive and have at least 3 months left after you plan to leave.[1] Check the issue date, because passports renewed before 1 October 2018 can be refused even if they have not expired.[1]
- Travel insurance. Check that it covers what you plan to do, as quad biking is often excluded.[1]
- Booking details for your hotel, flights and parties, saved on your phone.
Rules change, so check the official GOV.UK page before you travel. See the student guide.
Clothes for late May
Expect highs around 23°C, nights around 14°C and very little rain.[2]
- Light day clothes, swimwear and a cover-up
- Going-out outfits, and white for The White Party
- A light layer or hoodie for evenings and boats
- Comfortable, flat shoes you can walk home in
Boat party kit
Wear flat, secure shoes and take sun cream and a light layer for the evening. Meeting points vary between boats, so confirm yours with your rep.[3]
Tech and power
Greece uses type C and F plugs at 230 volts. UK travellers need a travel adapter, but not a voltage converter.[4] Bring a power bank, as you will use your phone for photos, maps and meeting your group.
Money
Greece uses the euro. Prices on the strip vary by venue and night, so set a spending limit that leaves enough for a taxi home.[5]
Health and sun
- Sun cream and sunglasses, as late May has about 10 hours of sun a day[2]
- A refillable water bottle
- Any regular medication in its original packaging, plus a basic first aid kit
Before you go
Read Zante in May for the weather, Zante for 18 to 21s for staying safe, and Zante opening week for the plan.
