Lively beaches

  • Laganas: a long sandy beach in the resort, with sunbeds, tavernas, bars and water sports, known for its young, lively crowd.[1]
  • Banana Beach: golden sand and shallow water with sunbeds, bars, restaurants and water sports, known for its lively atmosphere and sunset cocktails.[1]
  • Porto Zoro: blue water and boulders in the sea, with sunbeds, umbrellas and beach bars, popular with families and younger visitors.[1]

Beaches for swimming and snorkelling

  • Makris Gialos: a pebbly beach with clear water, nearby caves and snorkelling.[1]
  • Porto Limnionas: a rocky cove with no sand, known for dive-jumping, snorkelling and caves.[1]
  • Agios Nikolaos: yellow-white sand on the Vassilikos peninsula, with sunbeds, beach bars, tavernas and water sports.[1]

Quiet and family beaches

  • Gerakas: long golden-white sand with shallow water, known for families and loggerhead turtle nesting.[1]
  • Keri: a small, family-friendly beach near Limni Keriou, close to Marathonisi and the Keri Caves.[1]
  • Marathias: a secluded pebbly beach reached by road and a short hike, with calm, clear water.[1]

Boat-only: Shipwreck Beach (Navagio)

Navagio is a sandy cove with white cliffs and a shipwreck, reachable only by boat from Porto Vromi, Skinari or Agios Nikolaos port, with no facilities.[1] The guide notes access was prohibited for the 2023 season, so check current access with the boat operator before you book. Turtle beaches

Loggerhead turtles nest on Zante's beaches in summer, and some beaches have nesting restrictions, for example at the Kalamaki end of Laganas beach.[1][3] Follow beach signs and rules.

Beach days around opening week
